From the Armchair: Washington Redskins Week 3

In their 78 year history-the Lions making the trip to D.C., the Lions always walked away the losers-21 games, since 1935. Well, Sunday, history was made when the Lions came to town and won. Not in some loud obnoxious roaring sort of way, but steadily. Holding the Skins offense to a mere 20 points- 6 of those being FG's, while running and passing over the Skins defense. Was the Skins offense, spectacular? No, but they were better than the defense.

Griffin threw 32/50, 326 yards, was sacked twice and fumbled once, but that fumble was costly. It could of been a game changer.
Alfred Morris had 73 yards and a TD. Santana Moss and Pierre Garcon combined for 150 yards. DeAngelo Hall had an interception and ran it back for a TD. While the game wasn't a game of catchup, I have some lingering questions: Is it going to take 8 games for this team to get its rhythm? Where is last years defense? When is this team going to come to the field and play for 60 minutes? Hopefully all of these questions will be answered soon. I am not throwing the towel in by any means, I would just like to see some consistency for 60 minutes.

Next week the Skins travel to sunny California to take on the Oakland Raiders.

Watched as much as I could without sound.  Cried a little (not really, but felt like it) and then heaved a heavy sigh as the clock wound down.  Got jeers from many of those around me.  Good thing it was a good work day, cuz it sure was a bad football day.

Is it sad that I'm even worried about the Raiders at this point??

I'm mostly done crying over this team. They improved over lst week, but made some really stupid mistakes. Mistakes which prolly cost them the game. next week we meet the Raiders who are having their own pretty good year and then the bye. It feels like 2 years ago and that's ok, as long as they get it together and quit embarassing themselves.
