The full moon day in the month of Ashadh (usually spread over June and July months) of the Hindu calendar, is celebrated as GURU PURNIMA by Hindus all over. This day is celebrated as a mark of respect to the "GURU" i.e. a teacher or a preacher.
The Guru, who removes the fundamental ignorance, which hides the knowledge of truth from us, is revered by his/her believers. He is instrumental in putting an end to scorching agony and to shed cool comfort on the mind of man. A true Guru inspires such illumination and guides us in reaching our goals in life.
Come let us all remember our 'Alma Mater' - our beloved teachers - who took unending pains to ensure that we learned something about how to live and face life in peace and harmony. GOD bless them - may they attain nirvana(salvation) - and become one with the Almighty!!!!!!!!
