I'm not especially religious. And there's a reason for that. It's because a lot of the time I believe religions forget their core beliefs and instead get caught up in petty, stupid side issues. Or they just go crazy. This would be an example of the later.
The Miami Herald found this deadly serious (but, may I also add, incredibly hilarious) sign at a church less than a mile from the Florida Gators practice field on Monday morning. So, uh, why exactly should God be so concerned about Tim Tebow and not starving kids in Africa? Well, let's ask the minister of the church, one Eric Brown.
"I'm going to pray that [Tebow] is true to his faith because if he falls and gets caught up in some kind of scandal it will be bad for Christianity," Brown said.
Brown doesn't know Tebow but says the quarterback is an important role model. The minister says if Tebow gets into trouble, then the image of Christians could suffer.
Somehow, I think Christianity will survive if Tebow strays. I mean, I could be wrong, but I believe several prominent Christians have been caught doing scandalicious things over the years, and yet the religion just seems to keep trucking along. Brown doesn't know Tebow but says the quarterback is an important role model. The minister says if Tebow gets into trouble, then the image of Christians could suffer.
By the way, if you're wondering what Matt 6:13 is, here you go:
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."
By the way, what kind of temptation is Tebow facing? This kind.

Best of luck, buddy.
