He said he never expected to become national news, Debi. I guess with the love from Canada, he's international news now!

What I see is a 19 yr old kid who worried less about himself and more about his team at a moment where everyone would understand if he were completely absorbed in himself and his pain.  He really is grateful at the support he's received since the injury.  Just an all-around good kid.

Please don't feel like you have to send one.
He's on his feet today, with crutches of course.  Kid's a trooper.
Great article here.

So impressed  by Kevin Ware last night.  As he was lying on the court in so much pain, he called his team over and told them he'd be okay and to get out there and win the game.  I think everyone would have understood the opposite.  So happy to see such good will for such a wonderful kid.

I can't save the picture to post here, but take a look at this one of Kevin Ware.  Not gory, I promise.  Simply inspiring, uplifting, encouraging.

Good news is that Kevin's surgery was successful, and he should be in Atlanta with his team :)

Story here

Hockey was all tied up, which was hopeful, but the wrong teams won.  Well, except Boston (I picked them)

Just finished eating a HUGE turkey dinner.

Louisville ladies defeat Baylor, pulling off the biggest upset EVER in the tournament.  And Kevin Durant is visiting the locker room as I type this!

The whole nation (and a bunch of Canadians) are behind Louisville all the way.  It's so sad that it is because of Kevin, but It is certainly bringing a lot of attention to College basketball, and the women's teams as well!  Twitter is alive with basketball (even I am following a few people I never did before)

I don't mean to bomb this thread with Kevin Ware info.  He is currently in surgery in Indianapolis.  Pitino is going to stay tonight, which I am impressed and thankful for.

And Louisville is STILL ROCKING IT against Baylor.  It will be a HUGE upset.  and Shoni Schimmel just completely posterized Baylor's leading shot blocker.

Oh my :( twitter feed is saying he will be out for a year. I really feel sick to my stomach now.

Rick said that in his post-game interview.  I hope he will take the medical red-shirt.

In other news, Louisville women up 14 on #1 Baylor.

Just saw that! congratulations! It won't heal his leg any earlier, but it will certainly give him something else to think about, along with his teammates.

Louisville up 18 on Duke.  Peyton Siva is playing like a beast in the house that Peyton Manning built.

Yes.  You should be very happy.  Kevin Ware broke his leg in such a way that even Coach K cried.  I cried.  My very butch cousin in Dallas threw up when he saw it.  It just hurt me to see Ricky P cry.  They won't even show the replay at the halftime show.  Many prayers for healing for Kevin.

I am still not quite recovered myself.  I wore makeup today and still haven't gotten the makeup out of my eyes.  In true Kevin Ware form, he told the team not to worry about him because he will be okay.  Time to win this s**t for Kevin.

Watched the Blackhawks teach the Red Wings a lesson... I like the announcing team on NBC today...

There is a .gif at the bottom of this link if you REALLY want to see the injury.  I'd advise against it unless you have a STRONG stomach.  He's on the far left of the screen.

Peyton Siva has become a sheer BEAST in the 2nd half, as we are now up by 11.

Both bones were completely severed.  I wish I could un-see it.  We're playing with a good deal of heart right now.  I've had to crack the bourbon to calm my emotions and my nerves.

HOCKEY people, HOCKEY!!!

I saw Chicago decimated the Wings. I love it. Now the Blue Jackets are giving the Ducks all they can handle. *sigh* these guys are gonna be the death of me.

How is this for parity in college basketball...

Assuming Mich holds on, there will be a 4th place B1G team, 5th place Big East and 2nd place MVC in Final Four, and none of them won their conference tourney.

Michigans playing like crap this half

Gators better find a way to chomp down on Nic Stauskas quickly.  He's on the verge of shooting the Wolverines right into the Final Four
