*expletive* Cabrera...and walks. Blech. Oh well...tomorrow is another day.

Giants aren't going down without a fight...

And Sharks take it to the Kings with 2 2nd period goals.

Also, Manny Machado's defense at third base is amazing, especially considering he's only 20, and that's not his natural position.

O's win 5-4. Wasn't really difficult until Strop gave up three runs on 2 homers in the 8th, but such is life.

More shocking event tonight: Yuni Betancourt hits a grand slam, or Heath Bell strikes out the side?

It's driving me crazy that the ladies affiliated with Mariners and Root sports or whatever (Angie Mentink and Jen Mueller) keep calling Michael Morse "Michael Morris". It's not that difficult to say, people.

Got the O's game on TV, following 4 others on MLB.tv, and need to keep track of the Caps game. Another ho-hum Tuesday.

All I can tell you is:

1.) Maurer is only 22.
2.) He went straight from AA to the majors.
3.) It's only 3 starts.

He might not be ready yet, but give him time. Either he'll settle down, or at worst, hold the fort down until the better prospects are ready.

I trust you. Besides, if there's one thing I have where the Mariners are concerned (any of my teams really), it's patience.

That Maurer kid has some decent looking stuff and if he can settle in the M's could get some solid innings out of him. But that M's def have some question marks in that rotation , but its still real early and a lot of SPers take a couple starts to get going, so its still a kind of wait and see as to how good or bad they may be from 1-5.

I have some major contempt held toward him right now. His win Sunday helped but I hope he makes me feel better soon. To be honest, I'm not super happy with just about anything we have in the rotation after #2 right now.

I'm in Long Beach for a conference.  So I'll head over to the Buffalo Wild Wings for the Giants-Brewers.  After that I'll crash in my hotel room with the Sharks-Kings on the local LA channel.  Wish they got the NBCS channel.  They undoubtedly will be piping in the superior CSN-CA broadcast.  But I guess a chance to hear the other team's guys once in a while doesn't hurt.

Harang has 11 years in the bigs, almost all in the NL. He's basically perfectly average, but at his age, there's a concern about what he has left. He's better than Beavan at least (and don't give up on Maurer yet).
