Gaston Ramirez will spend another season with Bologna
Gaston Ramirez admits his main objective this summer is to move into a “big club”. However, the Uruguayan attacking midfielder has no problem with extending his stay at Bologna for another season.
The 21-year-old midfielder, Gaston Ramirez is one of the most talented players in Serie A. After a brilliant season with the Serie A outfit, top notch European clubs have are showing interest in making a swoop for Gaston Ramirez.
Inter Milan and Liverpool lead the race to sign in the young ace. English Premier League winners, Manchester City has also shown interest in signing Gaston Ramirez. Liverpool has been after Gaston Ramirez since last summer. The Merseyside club failed to acquire Gaston Ramirez last year because Liverpool and Bologna failed to agree upon a transfer fee and the Italian outfit had no heart in selling off their prized possession.
It appears as if Gaston Ramirez will have to experience similar problems this summer. Bologna president Albana Guaraldi has already announced that Gaston Ramirez will not be allowed to leave the club unless there is a big bid.
Bologna has slapped Gaston Ramirez with a price tag worth 20 million Euros. Albana Guaraldi reckons that the demanded price is justified. Gaston Ramirez understands that it would be hard for him to leave Bologna this summer. Therefore, he has made peace with playing in Italy for another season.
“If there is not an interesting offer, one which suits both the club and myself, I would feel fine staying in Bologna,” Gaston Ramirez told Goal.com in an interview recently.
“The people love me, I love the club, so I'm very happy being in Bologna.”
Gaston Ramirez also admitted that he was flattered by the interest top notch European clubs had shown in him.
It is a great joy and is a reward for what you are doing,” Gaston Ramirez said. “Every day I try to improve in order to get to a big club to play important games.
“I think when people are talking about such things (moves to high-profile sides), it assures you that you are doing well. But I must continue working hard to make these words come true.”
Gaston Ramirez confessed that he had a lot of respect for his club so he would only accept an offer that was acceptable to Bologna.
“I am thinking of the interests of the club. The best offer has to be good for both of us,” Gaston Ramirez concluded.
