The Texas Longhorns and Florida Gators have claimed the last two BCS Championships. Congratulations. With that distinction apparently comes a boat load of player arrests. Texas had six players arrested this summer during a three month span and several more dating back to their Rose Bowl victory.
Early this morning, the Florida Gators racked up their tenth player arrest this year and in spectacular fashion.
"Starting defensive end Jermaine A. Cunningham, 19, and ex-Gator linebacker Jonathan Rashad Demps, 20, were jailed early Wednesday after officers arrested the pair on a misdemeanor battery charge, according to jail reports.Subs so fast you'll freak. I guess they really mean that.
An employee at Jimmy John's restaurant, 1724 W. University Ave., told police Cunningham and Demps began to cause a disturbance after he told them they needed to pay for a bag of potato chips, a police report stated. The two became verbally abusive toward the man and hit him with a sandwich and empty soda cups. The incident occurred at about 2:15 a.m."
I'd say arrests are directly related to the amount of wins, but then there's the Cincinnati Bengals ... so no. Perhaps this is the best way for us to determine the next national champion -- I'd say the Tigers are poised.
