I read the "Rush The Court" article and I would agree with John Thompson though I would have used other terms. The term thug is misleading, I think he was referring to players who are tough and focused on the task at hand, not displaying their latest tattoo and 200 shoes. Patrick Ewing, Michael Grahams guys who blocked out, stuck out their bows and went to the boards. In the NBA they were the Karl Malones, Moses Malones and Dennis Rodmans. Those kids were driven and hungry for success and did not take their eyes off the prize. Bling, Bling, self entitlement and hip hop were still foreign terms.
