Georgia landed a big-time recruit in Lamont Gaillard over the weekend, as the 6-foot-3, 310-poundBlog Photo - Georgia Football: Monster DT prospect commits to Bulldogs Fayetteville (NC) native gave Mark Richt his 16th commitment for the class of 2014.

Dawgs247 reports that Gaillard pledged during an official visit to Athens with his family on Saturday. He picked Georgia over Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Carolina, and Tennessee, among many others.

Gaillard, a four-star prospect and the No. 3 defensive tackle in the country (both according to 247Composite), is considered the Bulldogs' top recruit for the '14 class thus far.

One of the strongest linemen in his class, Gaillard utilizes his God-given size to the fullest extent by disrupting the backfield with nearly every opportunity. He has an excellent first step and is very quick to the ball, allowing him to blow through the offensive line and find the carrier before the play can develop.

In addition to his run-stopping ability, Gaillard is also an elite pass rusher. Despite weighing over 300 pounds and a not-so-impressive 40-yard dash time (5.59), he's deceptively nimble and could even be used as a force off the edge. He has powerful upper body strength and uses his big hands to rip through gaps and reach the quarterback.

Dominant for Pine Forest High School, there's a lot of room for improvement as he continues his football career at the collegiate level for one of the best programs in the SEC.

Gaillard finished with 100 tackles (7.0 tackles for loss), including 72 solo tackles and four sacks during his junior season in 2012.
