Gio Gonzalez pitched a hell of a game yesterday for the Nationals against the Marlins, allowing only 2 hits over 6 innings, picking up the win. He also helped himself at the plate with a solo HR in the 5th.
It was his post-game interview that piqued most people's interest, however. Gonzalez gave some rather interesting mental images while discussing how he was so successful with his breaking pitches despite the rather chilly 45-degree weather:
"I felt like I was making love to my hand. Just one of those things where I was constantly trying to find some grip some how, some way — the rosin bag, whatever, licking the fingers, but it felt good after that."
