The Big Ten Conference has taken a beating to its reputation the last couple years, thanks mostly to Ohio State getting housed in back-to-back National Championship Games and Southern California usually picking apart whoever is representing the conference in the Rose Bowl. As a result, bloggers and mass media alike have been knocking the conference's strength and questioning the attention it receives. As if that wasn't bad enough, now Playboy Magazine and October Playmate of the Month are dissing the Big Ten.
Next month, Playboy will be featuring "The Girls of the Big Ten," there annual tribute to the finest co-eds from each conference around the country. Usually, the issue is accompanied by one lucky co-ed getting some "face" time as the cover girl.
Not this year. Why? October's Playmate of the Month and Florida Gators student Kelly Carrington has the answer:
“There weren’t any girls from the Big Ten who were hot enough to be on the cover, so they had to pull someone from the SEC."
Score another one for the SEC. She's right. But the least they could have done was to put Miss Carrington tackling a beautiful Ohio State co-ed.
When more breaking Playboy news that somehow intersects with sports happens, I'll be there for you. Until then...
