Schefter: Word is that Greg Jennings is doubtful for Thursday
Jennings' absence hurts the Packers much less than most teams would be hurt by the loss of their number one receiver, as the Packers have such a wealth of other options. Between Jordy Nelson, Jermichael Finley, the emerging Randall Cobb, and James Jones, the Packers still have the tools to light up the scoreboard behind Aaron Rodgers and a fierce aerial attack.
It's reasonable to expect a small bump in the production of the Packers' top options, as Jennings' usual looks have to be targeted elsewhere.
Jennings' fantasy owners who are thin at wide receiver should look into picking up James Jones, who is coming off of a strong performance on Sunday, in which he racked up 81 yards and a touchdown. He could easily improve on that performance, getting more snaps in the absence of Jennings, making him a good WR3 option.
Jennings' injury doesn't appear to be serious, and the Packers could simply be holding him out to avoid the risk of further injury, seeing that they are playing on a short week. With 11 days between Thursday's game and their Week 3 affair against the Seahawks, Jennings shouldn't miss more than this week's game.
UPDATE: Jennings is now officially doubtful for Thursday night's game against the Bears.
