Brett Favre did it back in 2009, after a brief stop in New York with the Jets, and now Jennings is going straight from Green Bay to Minnesota after signing a 5-year deal with the Vikings.
Packers fans are feeling betrayed, as one of their top WRs over the past few years is going to their biggest rival, but quite honestly, Jennings has bigger concerns right now than the emotions of Packers fans.
He won't say it, but his biggest worry right now has to be about who is going to get him the football.
Despite his measured statements about QB Christian Ponder, it's hard to be optimistic about a guy who is going from an offense with arguably the best QB in football (Aaron Rodgers) to a team that just signed Matt Cassel to provide a little pressure for their starter.
Jennings, on Christian Ponder (via USA Today):
"I had to watch Christian.I had to see what I was getting myself into. But he's a very athletic quarterback with a big upside. How much better he gets depends on him. You could see on film he didn't have a lot of options to throw to."
That's a pretty nice way of saying that Ponder just isn't that good.
On the flip side, Jennings now gets a chance to play with the best running back of our time, and his presence could open the Vikings' offense up even more for MVP Adrian Peterson.
Realistically, look for the Vikings to win around 10 games once again. Jennings is a nice addition, but in reality, he's only a replacement for Percy Harvin. To be fair, Harvin missed substantial time last year, but the Vikings still have a long way to go before they REALLY catch up to the Packers.
By the way, in case you missed the incredibly obscure Gogol Bordello reference, here you go:
