Guns + Pacers = A Bad Combination Once Again
READ MORE:
Another day, another gun incident involving a member of the Indiana Pacers and his associates.

After being harassed about the cars they were driving, Jamaal Tinsley and his friends, including Pacers' equipment manager Joey Qatato, left an Indianapolis nightclub.

On the way home, they realized they were being followed, so they pulled into the parking lot of a Conrad Hotel. It was at this point that the shooting began. Jamaal Tinsley was not hit, but Qatato was hit twice by assault rifle fire and has since been released.

Two of the vehicles in the group then pursued the attackers, and Tinsley's brother James, then fired shots at the 2 attacking vehicles.

Pacers coach Jim O'Brien said, "I would think as we all suspect, nothing good happens after 1 o’clock if you’re around alcohol or around an environment where there could be weapons. Nothing good can happen in that situation."

It is very fortunate that nobody was seriously hurt in this incident. Yet another professional athlete was attacked because of his success and money, an issue that is unfortunately becoming more and more common. Teams and leagues are going to need to take a hard look at their policies. Grown men should be able to do what they want, but at the same time, being in the spotlight should make anyone realize they could be a target. That's a shame, but that's the truth.

I was really starting to worry about the Pacers. No incidents all season, good to see they're back on track.

Its sad that these guys can't go out and have fun without endangering their lives anymore.  If I was a famous athlete I'd almost be terrified to leave my house, and even then Eddy Curry, Antoine Walker, and Sean Taylor have unfortunately shown us that thats not safe either.

I don't want to make light the situation but if I am asked to go out with any Indiana Pacer not named Jeff Foster or Mike Dunleavy Jr., I am not going.

Amen to that one-- I know exactly where Stephen Jackson got into that mess he's in, and the club where Marquis Daniels/Jamaal Tinsley  (heck, I even know the owner of that place!) got into it with the bouncer, and Shawne Williams was "rollin' thru the hood" at 1:30AM when he got pulled over-- in an area that I do not want to go in at all-- these guys would not be good to hang with on any night, we'll say that.
