James Harden is playing like the MVP of the NBA right now. In the past three games, Harden has silenced all of his critics wrong and OKC has simultaneously struggled from his absence. So, why didn’t Sam Presti do everything that he could to keep Harden?
Presti will tell you that the front office of OKC gave James Harden several opportunities to negotiate his contract. But if you ask James Harden, he’ll tell you the exact opposite.
“After everything we established – everything we had done – you give me an hour?” Harden told Yahoo! Sports on Monday afternoon. “This was one of the biggest decisions of my life. I wanted to go home and pray about it. It hurt me. It hurt.”
Three games is a small sample size to predict whether or not James Harden is worth the max contract or not, but he isn't doing anything to hurt his case right now either.
