This year's Heisman Trophy winner could make history. Will it be Tim Tebow, becoming the first two-time winner since Archie Griffin? Or will Ndamukong Suh become the first defensive player to win it since Charles Woodson? Or perhaps Mark Ingram or Colt McCoy will win it, before heading into the National Championship game. Of course, Toby Gerhart was the late-surging dark horse, and he has a great chance as well.According to the extremely accurate projection from StiffArmTrophy.com, Mark Ingram is the favorite. They've accurately predicted the winner 7 years in a row, but this year's vote looks close, between Ingram, Gerhart and Suh, despite the fact that McCoy appeared to be the favorite coming into the Big XII Championship Game.
The Trophy Presentation will be shown on ESPN, starting at 8pm EST, and if you're watching, talk about it here. Let us know who you think should win, and who you think WILL win.

LOL! I will - but what is this "escapade" you speak of???
12/13/09 | Chief_aka_James | 3286 respect
Forgive her, Andi isn't exactly 100% after her little 'escapade' yesterday.

Oh, no....you misunderstood me my fellow Gator fan! - I was being sarcastic to our anti-Gator friend Pat
12/13/09 | CowboyFan1 | 74 respect
Agrees with Dubs....truth be told Gerhart got shafted by Ingrams pick...and McCoy got passed over yet again. Both had better years than Ingram...but oh well...no one ever said the truely best player won and the voters go for who was better eye candy the last time they looked.

And as a side note, how is it that Tebow gets bashed for showing some emotion and shedding a few tears and Ingram gets applauded for it?
yeah right mark was just as if not more deserving then any of those guys. and buy the way there was nothin wrong with Tebow being upset
12/13/09 | Bamasweetie
haha i no right i cant belive with all the football they r playin they can manage their grades
12/13/09 | Bamasweetie
but at the same time he is such an outstanding player
12/13/09 | Bamasweetie
there is only one thing wrong with Mark going to the NFL...he wont play for bama anymore
i mean there is no doubt he will but i just dont want him to leave

His NFL career will probably be jinxed. Most Heisman winners are cursed with not making it in the NFL.
12/13/09 | suedon70 | 144 respect
Oh Please! Like it's a forgone conclusion that Cincy will beat UF. And it just shows a lack of character on Kelly's part to abandon his former team as they attempt to make history.
12/13/09 | suedon70 | 144 respect
LOL! That;s the ONLY thing they'll ever beat the Gators at....Like there was even a chance TT would've won this year anyway. Agree with AndiLee that TT shouldn't even be there.
I find it interesting that Ingram was the #1 vote in 4 of the 6 regions, and McCoy never finished in first in any of them, which makes me happy.
12/13/09 | Dubs | 2122 respect
Bad choice IMO. Seniors Gerhart, Suh, & McCoy were all MUCH more deserving.
I'm just sayin'.......
And as a side note, how is it that Tebow gets bashed for showing some emotion and shedding a few tears and Ingram gets applauded for it?

The University has STUDENTS that work as liaisons between the athletic department and the sports information office. They keep coaches and players informed on mundane things like stats, team records, and national records. Since Nick Saban is all about DOMINATING the SEC and the nation, he needs these invaluable folks to help him out when a player is close to a record. So, there is your 'splanation Lucy! Enjoy your THUG U movie!

He's a SOPHOMORE! Flame all you want, but the Heisman has Mark Ingram's name on it, not your's or any of the other four guys that were there! Besides, he can only improve with two years to play, but I doubt it, since he will GRADUATE next December. Classy speech by a very classy kid! You, sir, are classless, not the system!

OK, the 3 Gator Heisman winners, Spurrier, Wuerfel, and Tebow obviously voted for Tebow, but what's the excuse for the other 40 voters.? Oh, does Gary Danielson have a vote.?

That big sigh of relief you hear is the entire city of Columbus...Archie Griffin is still the only two time Heisman winner. At least they beat the Gators at something.
12/12/09 | Chief_aka_James | 3286 respect
Good for Kellen Moore being 7th overall. 43 1st place votes for Tebow? 43 voters who should probably not bother voting anymore..

While I responded to you, I wasn't really talking to you - I was talking to those actual homers. I don't believe he should've been top 5, as others here has said, Spiller was probably even more deserving. And I know you aren't a total homer, you just fell under that TT allure, and I'm sorry for you.

Gerhart gets my vote.A great player with alot of heart and a great leader!
12/12/09 | Chief_aka_James | 3286 respect
I say that with much love
I don't use the word "travesty" often, but if TT is even in the top 3 of the Heisman vote this season, it would indeed be a travesty.
12/12/09 | gobigblue1960 | 4778 respect

Ndamukong Suh has more contributions to his team, has been a bigger asset on and off the field, and yet more than likely he will get shoot down. The system is pitiful........
