Rather than bore you with my comments, I'll let the 2007 College Football Heisman contenders do their talking with some youtubage.
What's that? The USC Song girls can't win the Heisman? Well, they should. No one has been more consistently excellent over the year's than those beautiful girls in sweaters each fall weekend.
Since they can't, the other Booty has a pretty solid chance to become the 3rd USC QB in 5 years to win the Heisman.
Booty isn't even the best quarterback in the Pac-10, let alone that he should somehow receive the Heisman. The difference maker for Booty is that the team around him should be incredible, and therefore he'll get an invite to New York on that premise.

Who's the best QB in the Pac-10?
I don't necessarily disagree with you, but he's good. I'd take him over anyone else. But it would be unfortunate if he won a Heisman as a result of being the main representative on the best team.

Based on position talent only (not just the weapons around them), I'd take either Alex Brink (Wash St) or Nate Longshore (Cal).
All I'm saying is that Booty will get the nod by association, not just by talent alone. He had great numbers last year... the best in the Pac-10... but was it because of who he played beside?

I think you can look at it both ways. People tend to always says it's the QB who's getting off easy. I'm inclined to turn it the other way around. The guys around him had good numbers because Booty IS a really good QB. Doesn't miss much.
What he does have better than the rest is an O-Line. What about Nate Longshore? Some decent number for him simply by throwing a quick out and DeSean taking it to the house? I haven't seen enough of Brink to make an informed decision.

My guess, this year, is that we'll see what Booty is made of, with some newer wide receivers. If he continues to hit the targets, then he very well may be one of the Heisman front-runners at season's end.
Brink has become the little QB that could. Not many schools recruited him (too small), but his career stats have shown very good numbers. The fact that he's buried in a small college town in Eastern Washington doesn't get his name out there much to the rest of the country.
