Here's a great idea. Take a super profitable baseball team and place ads on their jerseys so they can make even more money. That way the super profitable team can continue to pound lesser teams that have no money.
That's apparently what the Red Sox are going to do. The team's uniforms will feature paid advertising for the first time ever during their two game season opening series in Japan.
Suck it Florida Marlins.
The ad will be for EMC, which is a technology company of some kind. Actually, I have no idea what it is, but I hope they go bankrupt.
By the way, if you were on the fence about the Sox, this move should officially push you into the "I hate their guts" camp.
Now, the logo really isn’t any more obtrusive than the World Series patches teams wear in October. But it does begin the slippery slope to baseball eventually becoming like NASCAR.
Nothing like A-Rod sliding into second with "Viva Viagra" plastered across his back. Yeah, can't wait for that.
