Almost. Give the Philadelphia Eagles credit for coming into this game as the biggest non-expansion underdog in NFL history and nearly beating what many are already calling the best team ever.
A.J. Feeley impressively carved up the Patriots defense through the middle for 345 yards and 3 touchdowns, but it was also his typically sporadic decision making (3 INTs) that cost him. I have no idea what he was thinking on that last pass towards Kevin Curtis. No idea.
Two thoughts I kept thinking throughout: 1) Bye bye Donovan 2) Is it really that the Patriots are so good, or that there aren't enough talented coaches to figure out the Pats scheme. It seemed to me Andy Reid figured it out, but just didn't keep with it long enough. That or A.J. Feeley is still A.J. Feeley.
Great effort by the Eagles, one which will be studied diligently by the remaining opponents. Several weeks ago I actually did pick Philly to pull off this upset, but now it appears the 16-0 is inevitable. The Ravens won't have much of a chance, but perhaps the Steelers.
Patriots 31, Eagles 28
