A tremendously solid night of NBA action for you this evening. Tonight we have two games featuring 4 teams that all should be locks to make the Western Conference Playoffs. First up is the newly reconfigured Rockets against the Mavericks. The Rockets have added Ron Artest to the mix to hopefully finally get Yao and T-Mac out of the first round of the playoffs. I absolutely loved the Artest deal in the offseason, but its success of course hangs on a couple of important details. One, Yao and T-Mac have to stay healthy, and two, Artest has to not go nuts. The odds of those two things both happening are quite slim, but if they do, the Rockets could go very far in the playoffs. The Mavericks, meanwhile, just brought in Rick Carlisle
The second game features the Hornets against the Suns. The Hornets are obviously hungry to make the Western Conference Finals this season, or even reach the Finals. And they'll obviously have a good shot with the best point guard in the game, Chris Paul, leading the way. The Suns meanwhile are getting old in a hurry, so you could almost say it's now or never for them. New head coach Terry Porter isn't running Phoenix's old run-'n-gun style this season, which worked in a win over the Spurs last night, but we'll have to see how it does in the long run.
Feel free to chat up the games here or on the Rockets/Mavs game page or on the Hornets/Suns game page.
