Houston Texans: A season of turmoil

FanIQ | Sports Rumors, Gossip, Blogs, News & Discussion ForumsAfter the 2012-2013 season, many people thought that the Houston Texans were going to be the team to beat in the 2013 season.  The signing of All-Pro Safety Ed Reed was thought to be a move that would propel the Texans to a possible Super Bowl appearance.  However, it has been a season far beyond what anyone could have imagined.

As the 2013 season began the Houston Texans were 2-0, earning wins against the Chargers and the Titans.  Since those two wins, the season has been spiraled out of control.  Then head coach Gary Kubiak fell ill on the sidelines and needed to be transported to a local hospital, multiple injuries, a QB controversy and most recently losing its eleventh straight game and the firing of Kubiak, their head coach for the last eight seasons.

Looking towards the offseason, what will Owner Bob McNair decide to do?  Keep current GM Rick Smith as a new head coach search begins, or does McNair fire Smith and start over from scratch? Will the Texans pursue a head coach with NFL experience or will they look to the college football ranks?  Only time will tell.

Seems like GM Rick Smith is the Teflon Man and will escape this mess of a season unscathed.
