Blog Photo - Howard insists Moyes will be “huge success” at Manchester United Slowly and steadily, the number of people losing hope in David Moyes keeps increasing, but there is one man who staunchly believes that the manager will be a “huge success” at Manchester United. That man is Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard, with whom Moyes spent seven years at Goodison Park.
Howard insists that Moyes can change the fate of the club if Manchester United continues to show faith in him. Howard believes Moyes has the right chemistry of professionalism, sportsmanship, leadership and talent to bring together a team that will dominate England and Europe.
Under Moyes the Premier League champions are currently positioned seventh on the Premier League table with little hope of qualifying for the Champions League. Manchester United are 12 points away from the fourth spot and 14 points away from their archrivals Liverpool, who defeated them 3-0 at Old Trafford last Sunday.
Despite the club’s poor performances this season, Howard is convinced Manchester United have the right man at their helm.
“I think this club will succeed and David Moyes here, given the right time, will be a huge success,” Howard told ESPN FC. “David Moyes never takes a backward step. He always believes that he can do the right things. He believes in his methods, he believes in the players that he brings to a club and that makes for a really good working environment over a long period of time.”
There are widespread rumors that no big players will arrive at Manchester United this summer due to their poor record this season. Howard believes Wayne Rooney’s new contract and Robin van Persie’s promise to remain loyal to Manchester United will attract top drawer players to the Red Devils when the transfer window reopens.
Moyes is looking forward to making big splashes in the transfer market. Reports suggest the Old Trafford boss is going to spent as much 200 million pounds this summer. There is little evidence or proof for such reports, but Manchester United will be making big changes in their squad.
“Absolutely,” Howard said with confidence in Manchester United’s ability to attract big football stars this summer. “Any time you are at club you want your biggest players in order to attract other bigger players and they have done that so I am certain they will have a pretty good summer spending money.”
