The Futures Tour - which is the minor league of women's golf that I was referring to - is about to have the Jalapeno Golf Classic start down in McAllen, Texas, which is just a stone's throw from the Mexican border. And their logo, - not their mascot - for the event is this cross-dressing sombrero-toting jalapeno you see off to your right. In all honesty, I'm not sure who should be more offended, Mexicans, women, or jalapenos.
Apparently the Jalapeno Golf Classic took a page from Cubs t-shirt vendors in their ideas for logos, which is always a great idea. What makes all of this even better is that the tournament is sponsored by the McAllen Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, who I'm sure don't all happen to golf with sombreros on.
But hey, at least the logo isn't a jalapeno jumping a fence into the United States. Although it's getting close.
