I Like Watching the Lakers Lose

January 6, 2013; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant (24) questions a foul call during the first half of the game against the Denver Nuggets at the Staples Center. Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY SportsI like watching the Lakers lose. I don't care if thats wrong or mean. I really don't like the Lakers. I loved watching the Lakers of the 80's, Magic, Kareem, James Worthy-but these days, I can't stand them. Kobe ruined the Lakers for me. I respect his game, but I don't like him, his attitude, his whiny look shown above. He has always tried to be like Michael Jordan, but the reality is, there is and always will be only one Michael Jordan. And Kobe just comes off looking like a wannabe. But that is just my opinion. I'm sure he has a lot of fans. I'm just not one of them.

And this year, the Lakers thought they were going to be all that-and a bag of chips. Keeping Pau Gasol and Metta World Peace, and bringing in the aging, yet legendary Steve Nash as well as the annoying Dwayne Howard. They should be great. Really great. But they suck. Really suck. And I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Now, what Mike Brown was doing coaching the Lakers in the first place I have no idea. But to keep him and try to work with such huge personalities was a huge mistake. And then, to fire him just a couple games in, start a whole to-do with Phil Jackson only to smack him in the face with the hiring of Mike D-Antoni was awful. How are any of these players supposed to respect D'Antoni after they all knew Jackson was the only choice.

You know things are bad in Lakerdome, when Magic Johnson thinks the season is over for them before the All Star Break. Jack Nicholson is leaving his court side seats early-and every image they show of Mike D'Antoni is him with his hands in his face. I attach the following thoughts I believe must be running through his head, "Why did I take this job? What was I thinking? How can I get the heck out of here. This sucks". Every time.

Now, I usually don't have huge dislike for other NBA teams. I think the Thunder are amazing, the Clippers are fantastic to watch this season, there is a lot to be excited about across the NBA. But, I must admit, I am really enjoying watching the Lakers turn into a excuse filled, no heart, whiny bunch of losers.

It's actually rather easy to hate a lot of today's athletes. They make it very easy.

Seems "viewers" love to see talented people fail.  Well he has 5 rings.  I'm sure he isn't too worried about what "we" peasants think about him.

I feel the exact same way about any team LeBron is on and Tiger Woods.  But hate is not a sound argument when you try to demean someone of vast abilities like LeBron, Tiger and Kobe Bryant's.  Even Magic speaks very highly of Kobe and Michael Jordan himself said Kobe is the only one in the league that comes close to his work ethic and he admires him.  Just because I think Tiger is a jerk and a despicable arrogant sack of excrement doesn't mean he is without skill.  He is a great golfer and I will admit that; I try not to let my disdain for him allow me to say he isn't talented.  Kobe is amazIng and for you to say otherwise is you letting your hatred of him blind  you to the facts of his career.
