Ice-skating bear from Russia kills circus director in Kyrgyzstan

O.K. here we go. Another circus freak show loses a handler, mauled and killed by a bear. Gee, you think Bears were invented to play hockey for us to watch? At what point do we realize that animals have emotions and feeling and when abuse an animal you pay the  price. Perhaps Russia might want to get out of the 18th century and realize that or suffer the consequences. A bear on Ice skates, wow look at the bear, look at the bear.........Slash, Bang, Boom...stupid F*&%#***&#* Morons.

The five-year-old bear, part of a visiting troupe from the prestigious Russian state circus, was wearing ice skates when he lashed out at his handlers and circus staff before a performance of their "Bears on Ice" show in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek. He dragged 25-year-old circus director Dmitry Potapov across the ice rink by his neck and nearly severed his victim's legs. Mr Potapov died at the scene from his injuries. Another circus employee who attempted to rescue Mr Potapov while he was being mauled was also severely injured during the attack. Well, unfortunate, but when you hit bears with metal rods, which they do to make them obey, and not feed them properly, payback is a B*#^&*.

The bear was later shot dead by police in the Central Asian republic. Of course, kill the bear because he didn't feel like playing hockey because, well, HE IS A FREAKIN BEAR. We now have a dead bear, who fought back, because lets face it, how often in the wild do we see giant bears wearing a pair of Bauer skates for the nightly hockey games with the Siberian Tigers?

The incident was not the first time a visiting Russian bear was involved in a deadly attack in Kyrgyzstan. Of course not. You can't hit bears with metal rods and not feed them and expect them to develop hockey skills. In the incident, local experts blamed the animal's aggressive behavior on its severe malnourishment. You think?

But deadly attacks are surprisingly rare in the country's popular circuses, which often use trained bears for comedic effect. Sure because we do know bears are great with "Stand Up" Comedy. Russia doesn't get caught enough and that is why incidents like these are not leaked out. Rest In Peace Mr. Bear my prayers go out to you.

Yes and no ... I don't think he was really cruel to animals like these idiots who work in the circuses.  He was trying to teach people about them and hope to make people more aware of the issues wild animals face today.  But when you mess with them that closely, you're likely to get nailed, and he did, unfortunately.

I think the key to this whole issue is -THEY ARE WILD ANIMALS NOT PETS!  These animals belong in the wild, not in a circus show or in a cage in anyone's back yard.  No matter what, if you try to domesticate a wild animal, there are often dire consequences!  It's not the animals fault, it's the person trying to get them to be some sort of circus freak show or a domestic pet......

Here is another example of dumb people getting killed by a wild animal being held captive...

This is animal cruelty at its worse, you take an animal out of the wild, try to make it do thinkgs it doesnot do then wonder why it attacks. Amazing that people still but tickets and keep these jerks in business.

Circuses are awful ... anyone who does a little research on them will realize the extent of the cruelty involved in pretty much every circus, worldwide.  Anyone who gets attacked/injured/killed in these circuses has it coming as far as I'm concerned.

Some of his antics were extremely annoying and irritating to several different species of animals, to say the least.

His intentions were never in question. I was simply saying he was basically a menace to animals.
