This is getting rediculous. First, Mike Hampton went on the DL again (ok, we saw that one coming). Then closer Rafael Soriano joins him. Tom Glavine came pretty close to going on the DL for the first time in his career for a hamstring injury this past weekend.
Now Peter Moylan (our stand-in closer) hits the 15-day DL with discomfort in his elbow. Results from his MRI have not come back yet.
Remember what I said in the Braves season preview? If the Braves stay healthy it could be a good season. Well, they are doing the best they can to make sure that the saying "if anything can go wrong, chances are it will" comes to fruition.
Should we go ahead and call the rest of the future DL stints for the Braves now?
Chipper's old knee injury will resurface.
Kotsay's back will finally break.
McCann's nagging ankle will fall off.
Smoltz has run out of elbow injuries, so I'm going with a torn ligament in his knee.
Kelly Johnson will need Tommy John surgery on that elbow that has been sore.
Mike Hampton will be placed on the DL at least 3 more times this season.
Chuck James will try to do a cannon ball in his pool from the roof of his garage and break both wrists (hey, he's done it before).
Jordan Schafer will get suspended for testing positive for HGH. Crap. (not an injury, but it just felt right to include it)
C'mon guys. Stock up on some duct tape and super glue. Just piece everyone together so we can make it through the all-star break.
