Well, after an extended leave, I have returned to FanIQ. Reasons for the leave will remain as, "I needed a vacation." But now that I'm back, I'll dedicate this post to the Philadelphia Flyers. The first series against the Caps showed that this team cannot play with a lead. Yet, in the end they pull out the victory. Then, against the Montreal Canadians, despite one player almost losing a testicle, and another developing a serious blood clot (as if there is a non-serious blood clot), the Flyers managed to win the series quickly.
Now, I watch as the Flyers struggle against their cross state rivals. Despite winning the regular season series (5 games to three), Philadelphia can't seem to get their act together. Play at times seems uninspired at best. Yes, they have been missing their top two d-men, but winning game four shows they can win without those two players. Now, rumor has it that Timonen will play in game 5, and Coburn is also a possibility for the game. (I would not be shocked if Coburn is not in the lineup though.)
When I saw the replay of Coburn getting hit by the puck, the more I believe that is the symbol of the Flyers in this series. It's like the team was hit by a puck and just couldn't play anymore. I guess game 5 will be the test for this team.
