The Indiana University Men's Soccer Team captured its 8th College Cup by defeating Georgetown 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Hoosier team scored the only goal it needed off a header from Nikita Kotlov in the second half of the game.

IU entered the tournament as the 16 seed, though they were arguably a much better team than this seeding implied. Their run in the tournament proved this to be true. They had to defeat the overall favorite, Notre Dame, and last year's College Cup Champion, UNC, to get to the semi-final match against Creighton on Friday evening. They defeated Creighton 1-0 and then went on to defeat Georgetown in the final on Sunday afternoon 1-0. The Hoosiers only gave up two goals the entire tournament while scoring 9 goals against their opponents.

Now with 8 Cups to their name, the Hoosiers trail only St. Louis (10) for most Championships all-time. Their last Cup Championships came as a back-to-back pair in '03 and '04.
