Now that we're inside of two weeks remaining in the season, the intensity level on the field and in the stands ticked up another notch last night which made for a fun night of baseball. Cleveland trailed 5-2 in the 8th Inning facing Guitar Hero Joel Zumaya. Hero, turned goat, the Indians rallied for 3 hits, the third of which was Johnny Peralta's second HR of the game tying it at 5. Then Casey Blake finished the Tigers off in the 11th, for what seems like the 10th walk-off win for Cleveland (can someone find me the official tally?). For a team that's lost a few late season leads (see: 2005), the Indians are trying to remain as relaxed as possible. From Nintendo tournaments to movie watching before the game I'd say they're doing a fine job. Being a baseball player does not suck.
Is this the end? The AL Central deficit is 5 ½, Wild Card at 3 ½. Might not have been the knockout punch ... but the one setting it up. Other Tiger fans would rather not discuss this matter.
