
Arsenal’s prodigal midfielder Jack Wilshere has fell to another injury setback. The young English playmaker hasn’t played for Arsenal for almost a year now and by the looks of it he won’t be available for action before the English Premier League season kicks off next month.
Jack Wilshere has been making regular visits to Arsenal’s medical staff soon after he debuted for the Gunners. Jack Wilshere has been dogged around by knee and ankle problems since the beginning of last season.
The youngster went under the knife for his knee problems. Jack Wilshere was expected to return before the end of last season, but continuous setbacks in his recovery and rehabilitation process have delayed his return.
Now, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Jack Wilshere will not be able to feature in the Arsenal squad at the start of the season. Arsene Wenger informed that Jack Wilshere would most probably return to the field in October.
Jack Wilshere hasn’t featured in competitive game for Arsenal since meeting the New York Red Bulls on July 31 last summer. Jack Wilshere cemented his place in Arsenal’s first team soon after making a stunning debut.
The 20-year-old is believed to be the next English midfield prodigy, although at such a young age Jack Wilshere has already proven himself a force of nature in the English Premier League.
“Hopefully, we will get Wilshere back playing for October,” Arsene Wenger said. “With Abou Diaby returning, it will be like signing two new players. This season, the squad will be strong and competitive.”
Jack Wilshere picked up the knee injury during the Emirates Cup last year. After just seven minutes of play, Jack Wilshere limped off the field with need for immediate medical attention. Since then Jack Wilshere has gone through a number of surgeries for ligament damage on his knee and ankle.
Arsenal’s medical staff has informed that Jack Wilshere’s ankle injury is causing most of the problems lately. During the 2010-11 season, Jack Wilshere played 49 games for Arsenal. He has also capped 5 times for England.
