Is the University of South Carolina a national title contender?

As a South Carolina fan I can’t help but wonder if they are ready for the big stage and play for a national title.  I really think this team is one of the best in the country and that’s not because I’m a fan it’s because I have seen a lot of good and bad teams over the years following the SEC and this one is so far one of the best I have seen.  They make the right adjustments at half time and always seem ready to play, and they also finally have the depth and defense to win a title. What do you think does the University of South Carolina a legitimate title contender? I have been a South Carolina fan all my life, and have now lived through the worst losing streak in the nation at 0-21 to the longest in the nation at 10.  It’s been a lot of fun the last couple years to be a Gamecock fan. This is by far the best team I have ever seen at South Carolina.  After Saturday’s thrashing of then number 5 Georgia I ask you do you think they are a contender or a pretender.  They have one of the best defenses in the nation defiantly top 5, and an offense that features in my opinion the best running back in the nation. Also a quarterback that does just everything he needs to do to win.  All he does is win since taking over at QB last year, and I feel he is one of the most underrated QB in SEC.  So do you think they can win the SEC and play for a national title? This month is a gauntlet for them to get through because they have one of if not the toughest schedule in the nation the rest of the season. They start next week at #9 LSU this week then at #4 Florida the next week.  Back home to play Tennessee and Arkansas. Then they finish up the year at archrival #16 Clemson.  I personally think this team is different from past teams and have finally turned the corner, but only time will tell.  However if the offense can score 21 points a game the rest of the way I believe they win because their defense will not give up more than that in my opinion.
