I do not sleep well because of health issues so at 2:30 AM on 3-19 -2008 I am awake and do some constructive projects as I am saying hi to mooser and sending jokes to a few in the Q. After a few hours the filming of Johnny Depps new novie was to begin at 5 A. M. The town I am from has a population of 2,400 and the filming is to be shot in the County Court House . So I figure I will never see this event again so I drive downtown to see what kind of commotion this is causing. Except for at least 20 semis and trailors nothing noteworthy at court house, however a few blocks away there are about 50 people starting to gather. I just travel back to my home as you aren"t going to accomplish much except catch a cold standing outside. At the end of the day I traveled through town on my way home, and I think the real news of the day is without a stoplite which we don"'t have I am going to have trouble getting home. The mainstreet is crowded and the blocks around the court house are filled with on lookers. Yes quite a sight for a lil farm town in Wisconsin.About the only story I have as of yet is some of the movie peoplewere eating at one of the neighborhood bars and they kept saying only a dollar for a taco? Welcome to small town USA.
They shot a movie ("Everybody Wins" with Nick Nolte and Debra Winger) in my hometown a looooong time ago and my oldest brother and I went to see the commotion too. Not very exciting. BUT my parents got to go to the cast party, because they "borrowed" some Harley's from my step-Dad's shop, and for the longest time there was a photo of my Mom and Nick Nolte among the family photos in the living room.
He's filming that at the Crown Point, IN court house. He's going to be playing John Dillinger. I was there 2weeks ago for a friends art exhibit. Is that where you're from?
