Jacked Up! Warriors Defeat Spurs In OT Thriller

While sporting their all gold new look alternate unis, which featured pinstriped shorts and sleeved jerseys, the Golden State Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs 107 - 101 in overtime Friday night in Oakland. San Antonio entered the game red hot on the back end of a back-to-back after crushing the Clippers on Thursday, a 6 - 1 recored on their annual rodeo road trip and winners of 16 of their past 17 games. The win was Golden State's first over the Spurs since January of 2008, a span dating back five seasons and 16 games. David Lee scored 25 and grabbed a career-high 22 rebounds while Stephen Curry added 19. The star of the night was Jarrett Jack who atoned for a cold-shooting Klay Thompson. Jack scored 30 points and dished out 10 assists in 42 minutes off the bench. It marked the first time a bench player has recorded 30 points and 10 assists since February of 1996 when Magic Johnson accomplished the feat. On the Spurs side, Danny Green led the way with 20 points, while Tim Duncan was solid with 19 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili each chipped in with 18.

an Antonio led by one heading into the fourth and opened up a 13-point lead after scoring the first 12 points of the quarter. The Warriors responded with a 13 - 0 run of their own to tie the game at 80 with six minutes to play. Alternating baskets in the waning moments, the Spurs led by one with half a minute remaining when Jack hit a three pointer with seven seconds to go, giving them a 93 - 91 lead with seven seconds left in regulation. The Spurs immeadiately answered with an uncontested lay up by Manu Ginobili from a pass by Tim Duncan on a well-executed back door cut to tie the game with four seconds remaining, sending the game into overtime.

In overtime, Jack scored seven of the team's 14 points, including a jumper and clutch free throws in the final minute to seal the game. Afterwards, Jack talked about Coach Jackson's confidence in him down the stretch.

Jack: "There was a point in time in the fourth quarter and overtime where Coach yelled at me and told me to get to my spot and take us home. I love him for having that confidence in me. I just tried to come back and deliver for him."

And did he ever. Coach Mark Jackson also spoke about his premier punch off the bench

Jackson: "With all due respect to what Jamal Crawford has done for the Los Angeles Clippers and with all due respect to what J.R. Smith has done for the New York Knicks, Jarrett Jack has been the best sixth man all year long."

Up next for the Warriors: a five-game East Coast road trip to Minnesota, Indiana, New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
