Go USA, But Sadly No Wimbledon Rematch In These Games

The good news: An American finally beat Roger Federer. The bad news: we won't get to see an epic rematch between Federer and Rafael Nadal. We'll survive.

James Blake defeated Federer in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (6-2) in the Olympic tennis quarterfinals. This is the first time Blake has beaten him in nine tries.

Surprisingly, Federer has never won an Olympic medal. He bowed out in the second round in 2004, and lost in the semis in Sydney.

The Federer era is slowing coming to an end.

Way to go Blake.  Striking another blow against those hegemonic Swiss.
