In this video, courtesy of The Fightins', from yesterday's Phillies/Pirates tilt, Moyer dropped a bunt down in the third inning with Carlos Ruiz on first to try and move Ruiz over. What resulted in the ensuing melee was comedic gold.
After an errant throw to first, Moyer rounded first and there stood ump Randy Marsh in Moyer's path. So what did Moyer do? Moyer threw Marsh to the ground to make it to second. By the way, Marsh is 60. That's a combined 105 years hitting each other. We're lucky no one died.
Even better, Moyer wound up scoring on a sacrifice fly, proving that people older than 40 can still occasionally do worthwhile things.
I just hope Marsh is behind the plate for Moyer's next start. I'm going to go out on a limb here and bet Moyer wouldn't win that game.
