Mandatory Credit: Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY SportsFormer Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen will now be chasing down quarterbacks for a division rival, after signing a four year deal that could end up being worth as much as $32 million, with $15.5 million guaranteed.

Allen replaces Julius Peppers, who left the Bears for another AFC North rival, the Green Bay Packers.

Allen is an upgrade over Peppers, and the Bears defense should be upgraded significantly.

In 10 NFL seasons, Allen has registered double digit sacks 8 times, and he averaged 14 sacks per season during his 6 years in Minnesota.

This is a great move for the Bears, who instantly get one of the best pass rushers in the league, and they secured him at a relatively reasonable price.
