Jarvis Jones taken 17th by the Steelers
Jones is undoubtedly one of the most impressive players in the draft, but his 4.9 40-yard-dash time had some teams worried about Jones. However, all Jones did at Georgia was produce, so expect him to be potent off the edge for Pittsburgh for years to come. Last season Jones led the NCAA in sacks (14.5), tackles for loss (24.5) and forced fumbles (7). He also had 13.5 sacks in 2011.
As we've talked about all night, pass rushers are at a premium in the NFL these days, and Jones is the fourth pass rusher off the board this year.
Linebacker was a necessary position to take for the Steelers with the departure of former Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison and the advanced age of Larry Foote. Jones will bring some much-needed youth to compliment the experience that Pittsburgh always has on defense. Expect Jones to start from day one for the Steelers.
