Jason Dufner wins PGA Championship
Dufner grabbed the tournament by the throat and took it, with fantastic iron play and even better putting. He didn't bogey a hole until the 17th, and while he also bogeyed the 18th, he had played well enough for the first 16 holes that didn't matter.
By the turn, it had become a three horse race at best between Dufner, Furyk, and Henrik Stenson. Stenson needed birdies on the back nine and didn't get them, so it quickly became a 2 person battle. Furyk, for his part, led Dufner by a shot going into the day, but couldn't get anything going. Dufner matched Furyk hole for hole the entire back 9, including Furyk's only birdie on 16. Furyk bogeyed 17 and 18 as well to remain two back.
Dufner joins Adam Scott and Justin Rose as first-time major winners this year.
