I'm not sure who you put your money on in the 3-point shootout, but I bet the house on Kapono. Guy is automatic. As one person who I was watching the shootout with said, "It's like watching a robot."
Indeed. Kapono has become the equivalent of Larry Bird at this contest. He might as well just walk in every year and, like Bird, say "Which one of you #### is coming in second?" Because that's the way it's going to be every year he competes. As soon as he hit the first two balls on the second rack in the final round, you knew it was over.
Kapono may not be able to run, or play defense, or do pretty much anything aside from hit threes, but that's ok. It still pays pretty well.
It was alright. The three point contest is rarely entertaining because it is just like watching a timed shoot around. I kind of want to see what the Chuck and Kenny were begging for with having players like Allen and Redd shooting in it. At the very most, it would be a more glorified timed shoot around, though.
