One of the lamer NFL offseason stories has been that of dance-dance-revolution machine Jason Taylor. Naturally, he wasn't too pleased about playing on a team that nearly went winless last season and he got into a bit of a spat with Bill Parcells about what was more important to him: football or Dancing With the Stars.Taylor more or less chose dancing, and I can't blame him. I'd choose dancing too if I spent last year on the Dolphins. Plus, we all know Parcells is an enormous jackass, and it was clear from day one he didn't like Taylor.
But now everything has been worked out. Jason Taylor has been traded to the Redskins for a second and sixth round draft pick in 2010.
Truthfully, the Redskins had to make this move. In fact, it came literally nine hours after Redskins starting D-end Phillip Daniels went down with a torn ACL during Day 1 of Redskins training camp. Then to top it all off, during the afternoon workout, they also lost another defensive end, reserve Alex Buzbee to a ruptured his Achilles’ tendon.
While some people might see this as Dan Snyder throwing more money at an aging vet, let's consider what would have been available to the 'Skins had they not grabbed Taylor. The answer is nothing. At this time of the summer, just about the only guys you're going to sign now are washed up vets, not future Hall of Famers. The Redskins also expect Taylor, who made the Pro Bowl last year, to fulfill the final 2 years of his contract. So this was a good move by the Redskins. It won't win them the Super Bowl, but it'll keep them contending.
Naturally there was a high price to pay for Taylor, because Miami and Parcells knew the 'Skins had no other options. Two extra draft picks is always useful, even though they aren't available until 2010.
But while this move helps shore up a huge need for the Redskins, the question is what the hell are the Dolphins going to do? The Dolphins, as constituted, may be the worst NFL team I've ever seen. In fact, there was a Yahoo! Sports article last week that said Ricky Williams may be the best player on the team. Yikes.
I know Parcells likes draft picks and is looking to rebuild the Dolphins from scratch, but he's facing a monster task here.
Plus his QB group consists of Josh McCown, John Beck and rookie Chad Henne. Which, let's be honest, is a complete nightmare. Beck was horrible last year, Henne sat during parts of his senior season at Michigan in place of a freshman QB who transferred at the end of the year, and remember that McCown nearly had the index finger of his throwing hand cut off by a chainsaw a few weeks ago. So yeah, the Dolphins have some great decision makers back there.
Is it possible the Dolphins could actually go winless this year? You better believe it. In all honesty, if they win two games I'll be impressed. But hey, if they're good in 3 or 4 years it'll have all been worth it, right? Yeah, we'll see about that.

. The lack of a decline is until now but no one disputes that it is inevitable and bound to happen. He has not brought the D together in fact only thought about himself as kappafla211 demonstrated for us.
