I didn't think it would happen, but I found someone more annoyed with the Brett Favre situation than myself.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia arrived to camp yesterday and was immediately hit with the possibility of No. 4 being around. Needless to say, Garcia was not pleased, and wanted it to be known that even if Favre were around, he'd still have to fight for the job. But he expressed in a slightly more amusing manner than that.
So long as Garcia keeps throwing interceptions far less frequently than Favre, he shouldn't have anything to worry about."You would think there would come a time where you feel like you've got to a certain point in your career where there aren't any questions any more about your abilities, or what you're capable of doing, or what you give or bring to a team. But obviously those questions are still out there.
If (Favre) comes in, as much as the accolades are huge on that side, I'm the starting quarterback, and it's going to be a battle.
That's just my attitude. I'm the starter here. I'm going to choke it to death until somebody pulls my grip off of it."
While he was on the topic, Garcia also made sure to poke a little fun at his coach Jon Gruden's obsession with quarterbacks.
"He loves quarterbacks. But he likes to just date. He doesn't like to marry."I don't blame Garcia for being on edge about this topic. I'm not saying his a Hall of Famer, but he's one of the most underappreciated quarterbacks of this era.
