The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Atlanta Hawks point guard, Jeff Teague, to a $32 million contract over the next four years. With Larry Drew as the new head coach of the Bucks, Teague will be joining his old coach from Atlanta. Teague, however, is a restricted free agent and the Atlanta Hawks have 3 days to match this sizable contract, but in all likelihood, they will let Teague walk out the door and grab their own free agent point guard.
With this hefty contact under the Bucks salary cap, look for the Bucks to move point guard, Brandon Jennings, to another team in a sign and trade. Or they will simply let him walk away as a restricted free agent by not matching any offers for him. The irony, of course, is that the Atlanta Hawks have been rumored to Brandon Jennings name.
Last season, Teague averaged nearly 15 ppg and 7 apg. Look for the budding point guard to flourish under the tutelage of Larry Drew once again, but his contract may not be totally justifiable given the gluttony of talented point guards in the NBA.
