Mandatory Credit: Tim Heitman-USA TODAY SportsThe Anaheim Angels suffered a big blow on Sunday with the loss of pitcher Jered Weaver, and they’ve now learned that the ace will be out for at least four weeks.

He’s been diagnosed with a non-displaced radial head fracture in his left elbow, and as the Angels learned last season, games early in the season really can matter down the stretch.

They’ll be replacing Weaver with Garrett Richards, and they also  called up Dane De La Rosa who they only recently acquired.

Weaver has had a less than stellar start, averaging 85.5MPH pitches, which isn’t his best at all, so this time off could end up helping him since it's his non-pitching elbow.

Despite this injury, most analysts still have the Angels winning the AL West, or at least think this won’t put them too far away from it.
