Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee/Image of Sport-US PRESSWIREThe struggling Angels got a boost from Jered Weaver Wednesday, as he threw his first-career no-hitter in a Los Angeles 9-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Weaver struck out nine and walked just one in the win.

The final out came on an Alexi Casilla fly out to right fielder Torii Hunter. The ball approached the warning track but Hunter was able to camp under it to preserve the no-hitter. Weaver got Denard Span looking on a tailing two-seam fastball for the second out to set the stage for Casilla.

Weaver's lone blemish was a seventh-inning, two-out walk to Josh Willingham. Chris Parmelee also reached base in the second inning on a strikeout and passed ball. Weaver threw 121 pitches in the win, improving the Angels to 10-15.

Ervin Santana was the last Angel to throw a no-hitter. He did so last season against the Cleveland Indians.

In the win both Kendrys Morales and Howie Kendrick homered and Kendrick went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI.
