The Houston Rockets put together a formidable backcourt before the season started by adding James Harden to the mix alongside Jeremy Lin.  Shaking off the dust was first order of priority for Lin, however, Harden got off to a blazing start, dropping 30 each and every night like it was no body's business.

His November field goal percentage was a measly 37%, which he has upped to 49% in the month of December, averaging 12 points and 6 assists on the season.

Harden on the other hand is top 5 in the league in scoring at 26 per game, becoming the leader of this team the moment he signed his $80 million contract extension. He has answered the bell averaging 5 assists and 5 rebounds.

The Rockets are 3rd in the league in scoring and remain in the top 10 in rebounding and assists, which has allowed them to remain in the early-season playoff race with an overall record of 16-14 entering the New Year. Omer Asik, the starting Center signed as a free agent this summer from the Chicago Bulls has actually become a solid defensive and rebounding big man for the backcourt who enjoys pushing the limit each time down court.

Asik averages just under 12 rebounds per game to go along with his 10 points. In their Christmas Day game against Chicago, Asik played spectacular in his return to the United Center, dropping 20 points and grabbing 18 rebounds, adding 3 blocks as well.

Houston is a team that no one wants to face, however, they are a few players away from becoming a legitimate playoff team.
