She already got $20,000 from Bobby Petrino for being his side chick. Then, she was hired to a position at the University of Arkansas that pays $56k/year over several people who were far more qualified.Now, Jessica Dorrell is resigning from the University of Arkansas, and getting a $14,000 check on her way out the door.
What's next, a book deal?
Dorrell, who was on the motorcycle with Petrino during the crash that dragged down his entire life, reached a "mutual agreement" with university, and they'll part ways less than a month after she was hired.
Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long released a statement regarding Ms. Dorrell:
"While Ms. Dorrell had a legitimate right to apply for and accept a position within the football program, the circumstances surrounding the former coach's decision to hire her compromised her ability to be effective in such a position. She and I believe she should have the opportunity to move on."
Basically, he's saying that yes, she had a right to APPLY for the position, but there's no way she should have actually GOTTEN the job. And now that Petrino was unceremoniously shown the door, it's time for Dorrell to go as well.
So, $34,000 to do pretty much nothing? Sounds like Dorrell did OK for herself. Well, aside from the whole "being Bobby Petrino's mistress" thing.
