Jimmy Fallen: Backup Evan Sharpley Moves Ball Well, But Irish Still Lose 33-19 to Purdue
9/29/07
The good news is that Notre Dame might have found their quarterback; the bad news is they still stink. Jimmy Clausen was banged up most of the day and then forced to leave in the third quarter. Evan Sharpley promptly came into the game and threw for over 200 yards with 2 touchdown passes but the Irish had too much ground to make up.
Purdue led 23-0 at halftime, but was outplayed in the second half by Notre Dame who outgained the Boilers 426-371. At the very least, Charlie Weis may finally have some positive momentum and enough positive to build on heading into next week. For the first time this year, they looked "good" for a stretch.
