Joba Chamberlain pitched pretty well this year for the Yankees when he was healthy, but no one has ever accused Joba of being a genius. He was was pulled over for speeding in his home state of Nebraska at 1 am early Saturday morning. The Nebraska State Patrolman smelled alcohol on Chamberlain's breath, and saw an open alcohol container in the front passenger seat.

Joba's father Harlan, his biggest fan, had no comment. The Yankees also declined to comment on the situation.

Apparently Joba has a bit too much spare time this year, after the Yankees missed the postseason for the first time in 13 years. It will be interesting to see how the team handles this... if they handle it at all.

This may be a prime example of why certain sports ESPECIALLY FOOTBALL should be a year-round dedication. If sports figures don't know how to go on vacation then they should do the next best thing and thats go to where there is a game to be played. As for pitchers, I saw a special on Nolan Ryan and he went injury free during his career, he said " I threw everyday just to keep my arm loose." When the season came around this guy blinded you with fastball after fastball. Some sports figures need to address what ails them during the off season and its NOT a bad thing to stay in shape all year round.

Derek Jeter and Roger Clemens were enjoying themselves on the sidelines at the Texas/Mizzou football game in Austin last night. No idea if they were drinking, although Mizzou would have been hogging it to wash away the pain of getting their rear's handed to them.
