A team resorting to fighting after a tough loss is lame, but coaches jabbing at each other from across the field isn't. Quite the day in sportsmanship Saturday with Joe Glenn-Kyle Whittingham and Ohio State-Illinois leading the way.

As I'm catching up on the Saturday that was in college football this Utah-Wyoming game offered one of many highlights. Wyoming coach Joe Glenn guaranteed a victory against Utah earlier in the week. What happened? A 50-0 pasting by the Utes. If you're going to make that kind of statement, at least score a point. But it was how the Utes got to 50-points that created some drama. Up 43-0 Utah coach Kyle Whittingham called for an onside kick which they recovered and subsequently scored yet another time to rub in the blowout victory. As a result, Joe Glenn offered his counterpart the middle-finger salute. Clearly not a classy move by Glenn, but not sure Whittingham is without fault either.

Adding the Sportsmanship Saturday Ohio State resorted to a few extra blows after the final whistle (below):

I don't blame Glenn one bit. If anyone showed a lack of class, it was Whittingham.

I have never understood the way people get their undies in a bunch over guaranteed wins. The Wyoming coach tells some students that they will win the game against Utah...OH MY GOD!!! How could he do that???? So because he said they will win, you choose to run up the score. What is a player or coach supposed to say or think leading up to a game? "Shucks, I sure hope we win" or "I don't care if we win. I just hope we have fun" What a bunch of crap.
