Joe Johnson injured in the game against the Bulls
ESPN’s reported John Hollinger reported on the matter by saying that Joe Johnson is going to be out of the Thursday Atlanta Hawks game against Orlando as he is scheduled for an MRI.
As it was reported that “Hawks say Joe is also out Thursday and will get MRI on left knee. Don't lock in those All-Star break plans, Josh.”
In the meantime, Yahoo Sports, March Johnson reported that the Atlanta Hawks guard is going to be out for the two successive games as he needs surgery.
He reported “Hawks Joe Johnson is returning to ATL to have MRI on injured knee and will miss next 2 games. Looks like an AllStar no go probably now.”
The fact of the matter is that it will be a sad disappointment for the Atlanta Hawks fans when Johnson won’t be seen in the coming All-star game but the point is that the team needs to assess the long term plan and this requires Joe Johnson to rest and sit out the coming few games.
The Atlanta Hawks did tweet that the player won’t be returning to the court as soon as Johnson moved off the court after receiving the injury.
Chris Vivlamore from the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported:
”Drew said he expects no issues with Joe Johnson’s left knee. The All-Star wore a soft brace to protect his problematic knee Saturday, saying he is suffering from tendinitis around the patellar tendon.”
'We will keep an eye on it,' Drew said.”
There is a slight possibility that this might just to Johnson’s tendinitis acting up again, still the Atlanta Hawks lost the game 90-79 and before Johnson was taken out of the game he had made four assists, shot 5 for 11 and scored 12 points.
There are still numerous tests to be run for the complete extent of the injury to be clarified and numerous updates will come as the situation progresses.
The Atlanta Hawks are now 1-4 with their recent loss and the team seems to be on the wrong side of the momentum right now and right now the loss of such a key player will take a definite toll on the team.
Now the Hawks gear up for their next run up Thursday night against Orlando Magic and now the team will have to test out, what actually it can do without Joe Johnson.
